Farming with the future in mind

Five Forks Sustainable Farm is located on 384 acres of family land in Chesterfield County, SC. We are revitalizing an old family farm. We have 2 acres of land in organic fruit and vegetable production, and we raise pigs, turkeys, and chickens for meat and eggs.  We are tending a small herd of Hereford and Black Angus cows with plans for offering grass-fed beef.

For many years this farm was a productive, successful farming operation, growing acres of cotton and grazing several herd of beef cattle. Our goal is to breathe new life into this farm, making the most of the abundant, natural resources, and carrying it on for future generations.

Our Mission

TO PRODUCE THE HEALTHIEST, BEST-TASTING FOOD POSSIBLE IN WAYS THAT HONOR ALL THOSE WHO LIVE, WORK AND VISIT HERE, NOW, IN THE PAST AND IN THE FUTURE.

To us this means raising all of our livestock following animal welfare standards – giving them the best life possible while they are in our care.  We use only safe, natural farming practices – many are the same ones used by our predecessors – such as hedgerows for wind protection and natural wildlife habitats, crop rotation, companion planting, and bees for pollination.  We repurpose and reuse our resources, from restoring (rather than replacing) old barns to give them another century of life, to building pig huts from recycled materials. We strive to be good stewards of the land, improving the condition of the fields and woodlands as we grow.
